This Criminal Petition is filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C by the petitioner/ accused, seeking to quash the proceedings in Crime No.140 of 2016 of Muvvalavani Palem Police Station, Visakhapatnam. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Public Prosecutor appearing for the State, before ordering notice to respondent No.2/ de facto complainant and perused the grounds in the Criminal Petition.

It is the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the name of the petitioner is not shown in the F.I.R. and the police are calling the petitioner for the purpose of investigation. Having regard to the above, since there is nothing to entertain the present Criminal Petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C., this Criminal Petition is dismissed. However, if at all there is any apprehension of arrest of the petitioner, his remedy is elsewhere. Miscellaneous petitions pending if any, shall stand closed. _________________________ Dr. B.
