According to petitioner his date of birth was wrongly entered in the municipal records and two different date of births are shown. The birth certificate issued to the petitioner by the Medical and Health department on 06.07.2019 would show the date of birth of petitioner as 10.12.1994 whereas in the earlier birth certificate issued on 27.07.2013 his date of birth was shown as 20.11.1995.

According to petitioner he was born on 10.12.1994 and that is his correct date of birth. Therefore, petitioner made an application to the Municipal Commissioner on 15.07.2019 to correct the date of birth entry and to reflect his date of birth as 10.12.1994. Alleging inaction on the said application, this writ petition is filed.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing counsel for the Municipality.

With consent of both counsel, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the 2nd respondent-Municipality to examine the claim of petitioner ventilated in his representation acknowledged by the Municipality on 15.07.2019 regarding correction of date of birth within four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
