ORDER
This petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is filed by the petitioners/A2,A3,A6,A7 and A8 seeking to quash the proceedings in Cr.No.123 of 2016 of Chandanagar Police Station, Cyberabad District, registered for the offence punishable under Section 498-A IPC and under Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, against them.
2. It is alleged in the complaint that the marriage of A1 with the de facto complainant was performed on 05.03.2014. At the time of marriage, the parents of the de facto complainant gave Rs.2 lakhs cash, gold ornaments worth Rs.10 lakhs towards dowry to the accused. Some time after marriage, the de facto complainant came to know that A1 is suffering from Schizopherenia since long time before the marriage. Since the de facto complainant and her family have knowledge of the said fact, her in-laws started harassing her mentally. Based on the complaint, the aforesaid crime was registered against the accused.
3. In view of the serious allegations made in the complaint, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the impugned proceedings. However, the concerned police are directed to complete the investigation without arresting the petitioners/A2, A3, A6, A7 and A8 and file a final report, if any, in accordance with law. The petitioners herein are directed to appear before the investigating agency as and when required and cooperate with the
investigating agency.
4. With the above direction, the Criminal Petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this criminal petition shall stand closed.
