SIVA SANKARA RAO WRIT APPEALS No. 434, 387, 440, 441, 443, 446, 451, 452, 519, 642, 649, 691, 870, 871, 873, 876, 877, 878, 893, 895, 896, 898, 899, 901, 902, 903, 904, 1217 AND 1845 OF 2008 COMMON JUDGMENT : (per Hon'ble Sri Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao) Learned counsel appearing on both sides would submit that during the pendency of this batch of Writ Appeals, the State Government has taken a comprehensive view of the matter and passed orders through their G.O.Ms. No. 246, Higher Education (U.E.I) Department, dated 21.10.2008 amending The Pension Rules for the University Teachers, 1992 by accepting the request of the Andhra Pradesh Federation of University Teachers' Association to calculate the pension up to the age of 60 years instead of 58 years. Accordingly, the amendments to The Pension Rules for the University Teachers, 1992 were also notified.

In this view of the matter, the cause in this batch of Appeals does not survive for adjudication as the relief sought for by the writ petitioners has since been accorded by the State itself. Hence, all these Writ Appeals stand dismissed. No costs. Consequently, the miscellaneous applications, if any shall also stand dismissed.
