This writ petition is filed seeking to issue a writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in not considering his applications dated 08.03.2001 and 23.06.2001 for permission to retire under voluntary retirement scheme, as illegal and arbitrary. Since the petitioner had retired from service during pendency of the writ petition, the cause in the writ petition does not survive. Therefore, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous.
