HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE GUDISEVA SHYAM PRASAD WRIT PETITION No. 2280 of 2016 ORDER:

Petitioner No.1, who belongs to Muslim community, married petitioner No.2, a Hindu. As their marriage is an intercaste marriage, they fear threat to their life from respondent Nos.4 and 5 and, therefore, seek police protection. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and perused the counter affidavit filed by respondent No.3 (Inspector of Police, MR Pally Police Station, Tirupathi Urban). In the counter affidavit, respondent No.3 would assert that, on 09.09.2014, respondent No.4 gave an undertaking that he would not interfere with the personal life of the petitioners and, if violated, would face consequences; as per the contents of the writ affidavit, it appears that respondent Nos.4 and 5 violated the undertaking by interfering with the personal life of the petitioners; and police are taking steps to provide protection to petitioners.

In view of the averment in the counter affidavit by respondent No.3 that police are taking steps to provide protection to petitioners, the Writ Petition is closed. Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, shall also stand closed.
