HON'BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE SRI THOTTATHIL B. RADHAKRISHNAN AND HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE V. RAMASUBRAMANIAN WRIT PETITION Nos.24017, 24556 AND 38094 OF 2017 COMMON ORDER (ORAL) : (Per Hon'ble Sri Justice V. Ramasubramanian) The petitioners who completed a Post Graduate Degree course in M.S. and General Surgery in the Government Siddhartha Medical College affiliated to Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences came up with the above writ petitions seeking a direction to the Medical Council of India to recognize Post Graduate Degrees taken by them from the Government Siddhartha Medical College.

The Medical Council of India did not recognize the Post Graduate Degrees taken by the petitioners on the ground that the Government Siddhartha Medical College did not have recognition for the academic year in which they joined in these courses. At the time when the writ petitions came up for admission, this Court passed an interim order to the following effect on 25.07.2017: "Mr. Vivek Chandra Sekhar, learned counsel for M.C.I., seeks time to file counter and submitted that the 5th respondent college was not granted recognition from the year 2016 and that therefore no interim relief can be granted.
HCJ & VRS,J WP Nos.24017, 24556 AND 38094 of 2017 But even on admitted facts, it is clear that the petitioners underwent the MS course, in a Government Medical College and that the Government Medical College was also granted an increase in the permitted intake for PG Courses, pursuant to the recommendations made by the Government of India. Therefore, the students, who have completed 3 years of the course of study in the Government Medical College, cannot be suddenly deprived of the benefit of seeking admission to super speciality courses.
Hence there will be an interim order directing the respondents to treat the post graduate degrees held by the petitioners, as valid for the purpose of seeking admission to super speciality courses. Post after two weeks for counter."
3. Thereafter, the college appears to have rectified all the deficiencies as per the interim order and the Medical Council of India recommended the case for recognition. The Central Government has accepted the recommendations made by the Medical Council of India and issued notification dated 06.03.2018. By the said notification, the Post Graduate Degrees in M.D. and M.S. offered by the Government Siddhartha Medical College affiliated to Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences have been recognized by the Central Government. Therefore, the grievance of the petitioners stands redressed and no further orders are necessary.

4. Hence, these Writ Petitions are closed. No order as to costs. As a sequel thereto, Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in these Writ Petitions stand closed.
