ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking the following relief: "... to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction, more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the respondents 1 and 2 in appointing the 3rd respondent as Anganwadi worker to Bhimavarapu Kota Village, Kotananduru Mandal, East Godavari District, by ignoring the meritorious candidate is illegal, arbitrary, discriminatory and in violation of Article 14 of the Constitution of India and consequently set aside the selection of the 3rd respondent as Anganwadi worker and direct the respondents 1 and 2 to appoint the petitioner as Anganwadi Worker to Bhimavarapu Kota Village of Kotananduru Mandal, East Godavari District and pass such other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

Heard Sri N.Siva Reddy, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, learned Government Pleader for Women Development and Child Welfare appearing for respondent Nos.1 and 2.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that though the petitioner is more meritorious than the 3rd respondent, the official respondents have ignored that aspect and selected the 3rd respondent as Anganwadi worker.

Learned Government Pleader appearing for respondent Nos.1 and 2 contends that in the selection process, the 3rd respondent has secured more marks than the petitioner. Having considered the rival submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court is of the view that no illegality or irregularity has been committed by the official respondents in selecting the 3rd respondent. Unless a grave irregularity has been pointed out by the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the same. There are no merits in the writ petition and the same is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed.
