HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.18539 of 2007 ORDER:

This writ petition, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is filed by the petitioner seeking to declare the action of the respondents in not furnishing the documents sought for by him under the Right to Information Act, as illegal and arbitrary and consequently, direct the respondents to furnish the documents mentioned in the application of the petitioner, dated 24.07.2007. Heard and perused the material available on record. The case of the petitioner is that he made an application under Right to Information Act seeking to supply some documents relating to the 4th respondent. Since there is no response from the 1st respondent, he sent a reminder, dated 11.04.2007 to the 2nd respondent. After that, some documents were furnished to the petitioner but, some were not furnished. Therefore, the petitioner approached the 3rd respondent and made an application on 24.07.2007 for supply of the remaining documents. The 3rd respondent has not furnished any information on the application, dated 24.07.2007, submitted by the petitioner till date. Hence, this writ petition.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the grievance of the petitioner, this Court is of the view that the writ petition can be disposed of with the following direction: The 3rd respondent is directed to consider the application of the petitioner, dated 24.07.2007, and dispose of the same within a period of

(12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
