This Criminal Petition is filed for grant of Anticipatory bail to the petitioner, who is arrayed as accused, in Crime No.48 of 2026 of the Police Station EOW, Cyberabad, Cyberabad District. The offences alleged against the petitioner are punishable under Sections 318(4), 316(2), 351(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (for short, "BNS").

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the offences against the petitioner prescribes punishment of less than 7 years
and in view thereof, notice under Section 35(3) of BNS has been issued on 15.05.2026 requiring the petitioner to appear before the Police on or before 18.05.2026 along with relevant documents. It is submitted that on 18.05.2026, the petitioner's son has made a representation and sought for time to appear and submit all the relevant documents as the petitioner is suffering from the Coronary Artery Disease and is admitted into continental hospital, Gachibowli. Thereafter, this petition is filed seeking extension of time to submit explanation before the Police. The petitioner is seeking extension of time by two (2) weeks to submit his explanation/representation and in proof of his ill-health, the medical certificate given by the Doctor of Continental Hospital treating the petitioner has been furnished.

Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor, on instructions, does not oppose the same.

Having regard to the medical conditions of the petitioner, two weeks time i.e., upto 08.06.2026 for appearing and submitting his explanation along with relevant documents is granted. Till such
time, the respondent Police are directed not to take any coercive steps against the petitioner.

Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous applications, if any pending, shall stand closed.
