Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Revenue.

Petitioner is working as Senior Assistant. For the post of Senior Assistant, the avenue of advancement in service is to the post of Deputy Tahsildar. According to Rule 6 of A.P. Revenue Subordinate Service Rules, 1992 ( for short the Rules, 1992) a Senior Assistant must be approved probationer and put in four years of service, out of which two years shall be as Revenue Inspector. Thus, posting of a Senior Assistant as Revenue Inspector is necessary to enable a person to seek promotion as Deputy Tahsildar.

Petitioner was posted as Revenue Inspector on 16.8.2015. While so, alleging misconduct, petitioner was placed under suspension on 28.12.2016. By order dated 10.10.2017 suspension of petitioner was revoked. However, on revocation of suspension, petitioner was directed to report before the District Collector, Mancherial/2nd respondent and on reporting, he was posted as Senior Assistant. Petitioner made representations requesting to post him as Revenue Inspector to complete the remainder of service to acquire eligibility for promotion. Alleging inaction on the representations made, this writ petition is filed. Petitioner also placed reliance on recommendations of Tahsildar dated 10.2.2018.

Be that as it may, having regard to Rule 6 of the Rules, 1992, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider representations made by
petitioner on 9.3.2018 and 24.5.2018 and pass appropriate orders as warranted by law by assigning due reasons in support of the decision and communicate the decision to the petitioner within six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

Accordingly, writ petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions, if any pending, are closed.
