Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4. 2.

The prayer sought in the writ petition is as under: " For the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit, it is hereby prayed that this Court may be pleased to issue an appropriate writ order or direction more particularly one in the nature of WRIT OF MANDAMUS declaring the action of the respondents as illegal and arbitrary in not providing security personnel to the petitioners and consequently direct the respondents to provide security personnel to the petitioners as per G.O.Rt.No.655 dated 13.03.1997 at no cost, to call for records, and pass such other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court may deems fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

During the course of hearing, the learned Government Pleader placed on record the letter issued by the IGP, ISW, Hyderabad stating that the representation submitted by the petitioners was considered on 28.01.2012 in the light of the latest threat perception reports which indicate that the petitioners are not facing any specific threat from any individual or group. Therefore, they are not entitled for any security as per the provisions of G.O.Rt.No.655, dated 13.3.1997 and as per the guidelines issued by this Court in W.P.No.291 of 1995 and batch. Therefore, the request of the petitioners was considered and rejected. It is also mentioned in the said letter that since more than one year and five months time has already been elapsed by the date of issuance of the present letter, the petitioners were asked to approach the Superintendent of Police, SPS Nellore District together with the

details of threat perception, if any, for considering their request afresh to provide security.

In view of the same, this Court is of the opinion that no further orders are required in the present writ petition. 5.

Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
