HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO Criminal Petition No.540 of 2016 O R D E R :

This criminal petition is filed by petitioner - accused No.2, under section 438 Cr.P.C., seeking anticipatory bail in Crime No.60 of 2015 of Women Police Station, Tirupathi, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 498-A and 354 I.P.C. and Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor and perused the material available on record.

The allegations in the complaint are that the petitioner used to see blue films and discuss the same with the de facto-complainant.

It is further alleged in the complaint that parents-in-law of the de facto-complainant demanded to bring Rs.5 lakhs and threatened her on failure to bring the amount, they will not send her to her husband.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and as the allegations against the petitioner - accused No.2 are so serious, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner - accused No.2. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed.
