THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO CRIMINAL PETITION No.2248 of 2016 ORDER:

This criminal petition, under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, is filed by the petitioner-Accused seeking to quash the proceedings against him in Crime No.13 of 2016 on the file of Alampur Police Station, District.

Heard and perused the material available on record. The offences alleged against the petitioners are punishable under Sections 376 and 506 IPC and 3 (1) (xii) and 3 (2) (v) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The allegations levelled against the petitioner are so serious in nature.

The truth or otherwise of the above allegations can be ascertained during the investigation. Since the material on record prima facie reveals allegations against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to quash the proceedings against him at this stage. Hence, the Criminal Petition is dismissed.
