ORAL ORDER:

Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned Government Pleader.

This writ petition is filed alleging that though petitioner is eligible for promotion as District Panchayat Officer, he is not considered for promotion on the ground that charges are drawn and disciplinary proceedings are pending. Vide G.O.Rt. No. 369 PR & RD dated 22.5.2017 charge memo was drawn and disciplinary proceedings were initiated, for which, petitioner submitted his explanation on 3.8.2017 and the matter stands at that stage.

Though, petitioner prays to consider him for promotion, since charge memo is dated 22.5.2017 and there is no progress in conducting the enquiry, learned counsel for petitioner fairly submits that direction be issued for early conclusion of the disciplinary proceedings. 4.

Having regard to the above, writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent authorities to finalise the disciplinary proceedings expeditiously, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. Miscellaneous petitions, if any pending, are closed.
