THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE M. SATYANARAYANA MURTHY CRIMINAL PETITION No.5313 OF 2018 ORDER:

This criminal petition, under Sections 437 and 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (for short 'Cr.P.C.'), is filed by the petitioners to release them on bail for a period of one month in F.No.DRI/HZU/VJRU/48/ENQ-01(INT-NIL)/2018 on the file the Director of Revenue Intelligence, Regional Unit, Vijayawada, registered for the offence punishable under Section 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii)(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (for short 'NDPS Act'). They are in judicial custody since 08.01.2018.

It is the case involving ganja. The limited request made by the counsel for the petitioners is that the petitioners being the brothers have to attend the marriage of their nephew to be performed on 05.05.2018 at 2.28 hours i.e. Sunday and requested to grant an interim bail enabling the petitioners to attend the marriage. In support of his contention, the marriage invitation and lagna patrika was also filed along with the petition.

In view of the marriage proposed to be performed on 05.05.2018, the petitioners are granted an interim bail from 04.05.2018 to 11.05.2018 with one escort, subject to bearing expenses and on 12.05.2018 the petitioners shall surrender before the Superintendent, Central Jail, Rajahmundry.
