HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN WRIT PETITON No.14409 of 2011 ORDER:

The relief sought for in this Writ Petition is for a writ of mandamus to declare the action of the JNTU and its Director, Admissions, in rejecting the petitioners applications for Part Time Post Graduation course in M.Tec (Civil Engineering, Environmental management, Remote Sensing and GIS and Water and Environmental Technology) for the year 2011 by memo dated 02.05.2011, as illegal and arbitrary; and to declare that the petitioners are eligible for admission into the Part Time PG course in M.Tec. By order dated 16.06.2011, this Court directed the respondents to permit the petitioners to participate in the counselling for part time Post Graduate Course in M.Tec scheduled to be held on 21.06.2011.

Neither is Sri M.V. Rama Rao, Learned Counsel for the petitioner present nor is there any representation on his behalf. It is not known whether the petitioners had participated in the counselling, and whether they were admitted to the Post Graduate M.Tec course any time thereafter. In any event, since M. Tec is of two years duration, even if the petitioners were admitted pursuant to the counselling held in 2011, the duration of the course would have ended by 2013 more than four years ago. It is evident that the cause in the Writ Petition does not survive necessitating any further adjudication by this Court. The Writ Petition has become infructuous and is, accordingly, dismissed. The miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed. No costs.
