ORDER

This petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is filed by the petitioners/A2 to A4 seeking to quash the proceedings in Cr.No.75 of 2016 of I Town Police Station, Kothagudem, Khammam District, registered for the offence under Section 498-A IPC and under Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act, against them.

2. It is alleged in the complaint that the marriage of second respondent with A1 was solemnized on 05.11.2012. At the time of marriage, the parents of second respondent gave Rs.10 lakhs to A1 towards dowry apart from other household articles. After some time, A1, at the instigation of petitioners/A2 to A4, used to harass the second respondent physically and mentally by demanding additional dowry and also threatened her with dire consequences.

3. In view of the serious allegations made against the petitioners, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the impugned proceedings. However, the concerned police are directed to complete the investigation without arresting the petitioners/A2 to A4 and file a final report, if any, in accordance with law. The petitioners/A2 to A4 are directed to appear before the investigating agency as and when required and cooperate with the investigating agency.

4. With the above direction, the Criminal Petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this petition shall stand closed.
