When the matter is taken up for hearing, it is noticed that during pendency of the writ petition, the petitioner has retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation. In view of the same, the writ petition cannot be adjudicated on merits.

Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed. Consequently, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in the writ petition shall stand closed. No order as to costs.
