ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed seeking the following relief: "....to issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus or an appropriate writ or order or direction to the respondents herein holding that the action on the part of respondents for not paying Exgratia as per N.O.O (CS) Rt.No.390, dated 20.09.2013 even after lapse of more than three years is illegal, arbitrary and violation of fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution and direct the respondents to pay Exgratia of Rs.2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Only) to the petitioner herein for the death of his wife due to electric shock with in a time bound period and pass such other order or orders which are deem fit and proper in the interest of just." Heard Sri P.

Raghavendra Rao, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Sri Zakir Ali Danish, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents. It is the case of the petitioner that he is an agriculture labour and his wife expired on 28.07.2014 due to electrical shock. Thereafter, he submitted a representation on 29.5.2017 to the respondents seeking exgratia in terms of the policy of the respondents. But, so far, no orders have been passed thereon.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner contended that appropriate orders be passed in the writ petition directing

the respondents to consider the representation dated 29.5.2017 submitted by the petitioner.

Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents contended that since the representation dated 29.5.2017 submitted by the petitioner is pending with the respondents, the respondents would consider the same and pass appropriate orders thereon.

Having considered the rival submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court is of the considered view that this writ petition can be disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 29.5.2017 submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders thereon, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending, shall stand closed.
