ORDER
This writ petition is filed seeking to declare the action of the respondents in not appointing the petitioner on compassionate grounds in any suitable post, as arbitrary and illegal.
The father of the petitioner viz., Shivaiah while working at APSRTC bus depot, Bhainsa, died on 5.9.1993. Subsequent to his death, the mother of the petitioner made representation dated 31.1.1995 to the respondent-Corporation to provide her employment on compassionate grounds.
The additional monetary benefit offered by the respondents was not accepted by the mother of the petitioner. Thereafter, the Government issued G.O.Ms.No.2, dated 5.1.2013, permitting the Corporation to provide appointments on compassionate grounds by lifting the ban. Pursuant to the same, the petitioner made representation dated 16.02.2015, but so far no orders have been passed.
The grievance of the petitioner is that in spite of issuance of G.O.Ms.No.2, the respondentCorporation has not been considering the case of
the petitioner for appointment on compassionate grounds.
Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent-Corporation submits that there is inordinate delay in submitting the representation by the petitioner.
On the other hand, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that earlier there was ban and after issuance of G.O.Ms.No.2, the petitioner submitted representation dated 16.02.2015.
In any event, without going into merits of the case, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 16.02.2015 submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders as per Rules of the Corporation, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
