Ms. Pujitha Reddy T, v. The State Of Andhra Pradesh, Rep. By Its Principal
HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE V. RAMASUBRAMANIAN AND HON'BLE MRS. JUSTICE ANIS Writ Petition No.29852 of 2014 ORDER: (per Hon'ble Sri Justice V. Ramasubramanian) The petitioner, whose claim for admission to under-graduate medical course for the academic year 2014-15 under the quota reserved for sports category was rejected, has come up with the above writ petition seeking a mandamus.
2. Heard Sri K.Venugopal Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner, Sri Taddi Nageswara Rao, learned standing counsel for the 2nd respondent and Sri M.V.S. Prasad, learned standing counsel for the 4th respondent.
3. Apart from the fact that the admissions to under-graduate medical courses of the year 2014-15, has already been over and the admissions to next two academic years have also been over, the petitioner does not deserve any relief. This is for the reason that her claim under the quota reserved for sports category, has been rejected on the ground that she participated in Commonwealth Chess Championship, Asian Youth Chess Championship etc. under the concept of donor entry, where a person pays money for participation. Therefore, we find nothing wrong in the action of the respondents in denying the benefit of reservation for such sports category persons.
4. Hence, the writ petition is dismissed. There will be no order as to costs. Pending miscellaneous applications if any, in this petition shall stand dismissed in consequence.
