Aasha Jyothi Evening Daily News Paper, v. The Commissioner,
THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A. RAMALINGESWARA RAO WRIT PETITION No.22209 of 2015 ORDER:
The petitioner states to be running the Aasha Jyothi Evening Daily Newspaper, which is a registered newspaper by the Registrar of Newspapers of Government of India. The advisement rates were revised in the year 2010 and thereafter there was no revision of rates. In those circumstances, the petitioner submitted a representation, dated 24.05.2014, requesting the 1st respondent to enhance the advertisement rates but no reply was received from the respondents.
The petitioner submitted another representation on 07.07.2014 and as no action was taken by the respondents, the present Writ Petition is filed. When this Court asked the learned counsel for the petitioner that on what basis the petitioner seeks revision of the advertisement rates, he produced G.O.Ms.No.646, General Administration (I&PR-I) Department, dated 29.08.2007, providing for revision of rates at one year from the last revision and the rate of revision procedure shall be taken up twice in a year i.e., in January and June.
Be that as it may, in view of the pendency of the representations of the petitioner dated 24.05.2014 and 07.07.2014, the 1st respondent shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders thereon within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
The Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall be
no order as to costs.
The miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
