The petitioner filed this writ petition challenging the order dated 20.7.2002 passed by the appellate authority confirming the order of the disciplinary authority dated 12.9.2001, wherein punishment of reduction of pay of the petitioner by two stages for a period of two years with cumulative effect, was imposed. 2.

When this matter is taken up for hearing, it is noticed that the petitioner retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation. Therefore, the cause in this writ petition does not survive.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
