ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking the following relief: "... to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction, more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in selecting the 4th respondent as Anganwadi worker of Govindapuram Village, Huzurnagar Mandal, Nalgonda District, though the petitioner is more qualified and having eligibility criteria, as illegal, arbitrary and contrary to the conditions stipulated in the notification and consequently direct the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for appointment as Anganwadi Worker in respect of Govindapuram Village, Huzurnagar Mandal, Nalgonda District and to grant such other relief or reliefs."

Heard Sri Palle Nageswar Rao, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Women Development and Child Welfare appearing for the respondents.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that though the petitioner is more meritorious than the 4th respondent, the respondents have ignored that aspect and selected the 4th respondent as Anganwadi worker.

Learned Government Pleader appearing for respondent Nos.1 to 3 contends that in the selection process, the 4th respondent secured more marks than the petitioner. Having considered the rival submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court is of the view that no illegality or irregularity has been committed by the official respondents in selecting the 4th respondent. Unless a grave irregularity has been pointed out by the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the same. There are no merits in the writ petition and the same is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed.
