Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Civil Supplies appearing for respondents 1 to 3.

This Writ Petition is filed seeking to declare the action of the 2nd respondent in not releasing the vehicle bearing No.AP 21 TX 8007 (TATA Mini lorry) of the petitioner, as arbitrary and illegal. Petitioner is the owner of TATA Mini lorry bearing No.AP 21 TX 8007. He has given the said vehicle for hire on the alleged date of transportation of essential commodities illegally. The petitioner has no knowledge about the commission of offence by the person, who took the vehicle, on hire. Hence, he filed an application before the 2nd respondent-Joint Collector, Kurnool, seeking release of the said vehicle. But, so far, no orders have been passed thereon. The grievance of the petitioner is that he has nothing to do with the said irregularity in relation to transportation of essential commodities and he seeks release of the said vehicle.

Since the application is pending with the 2nd respondent, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the application whereunder the petitioner sought for release of the vehicle, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
