ORDER

Challenging the impugned order dated 1.6.2004, wherein the respondents have imposed the punishment of stoppage of annual increment for a period of one year, the present writ petition is filed by the petitioner.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner contends that the respondents have imposed the punishment mechanically without appreciating any contentions raised by the petitioner. A perusal of the impugned order discloses that right of appeal is available to the petitioner. But the petitioner has not exhausted the said remedy, and straight away approached this Court. The punishment of reduction of pay by one incremental stage shall not have any effect on postponement of future increments. The punishment imposed on the petitioner has worked out on its own. The cause in the writ petition does not survive as on date.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in the writ petition shall stand closed.
