When the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner filed the writ petition seeking promotion to the post of Regional Manager and he has attained the age of superannuation during pendency of the writ petition and in view of the same, the cause in the writ petition does not survive. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. Consequently, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in the writ petition shall stand closed.
