Heard both sides. With the consent of both parties the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage. 2.

The present writ petition came to be filed seeking issuance of writ of mandamus declaring the action of respondent No. 3 in not registering the FIR basing on the report submitted by the petitioner on 05.05.2017, and harassing him, as illegal and arbitrary. 3.

Though various grounds are raised, the only request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner is to direct the respondent police not to harass the petitioner, without following due process of law. Learned Government Pleader does not dispute the same. 4.

Without going into merits of the case and having regard to the submission made, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondent police not to harass the petitioner or interfere with the personal liberty of the petitioner, without following due process of law. It is made clear that if any action is sought to be taken by the respondent - police, against the petitioner, the same shall only be in accordance with law. No costs.

Consequently, miscellaneous petitions, if any pending, shall stand closed.
