This writ petition is filed seeking to issue a writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in not undertaking review of promotions to the post of Deputy Executive Engineer, as illegal and arbitrary.

When the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that during pendency of the writ petition, the petitioner was promoted as Deputy Executive Engineer on 05.01.2014 and, therefore, the cause in the writ petition does not survive. Recording the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous.
