THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTI CE T.SUNI L CHOWDARY WRIT PETITION NO.16777 OF 2017 ORDER:

This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the respondent in not providing alternative method to pay the examination fee for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (UG)-2017 on the Online application, as arbitrary and illegal.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the Madras High Court directed the respondent to accept the fee from the students, vide orders dated 26.04.2017 in WP.MP.No.11650 of 2017 in WP.No.10696 of 2017.

Learned Standing Counsel for the respondent submitted that the said order passed by the Madras High Court was stayed by the Supreme Court in SLP (C) No.14286 of 2017, vide order dated 03.05.2017. 4.

Both the learned counsel submitted that in view of the said order of the Supreme Court, the purpose of filing this Writ Petition has become infructuous.

Hence, the Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand dismissed.
