Chakka Venkataramanamma v. The District Collector, Spsr Nellore District, Nellore
THE HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN AND THE HON'BLE Dr. JUSTICE SHAMEEM AKTHER Writ Appeal No.194 of 2010 Judgment: (Per the Hon'ble The Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan) This appeal, under Clause 15 of the Letters Patent, is preferred against the order passed by the learned Single Judge in W.P. No. 23025 of 2009. The appellant-writ petitioner, who was elected as a Sarpanch of the Gram Panchayat, was declared as not to belong to the Backward Classes by the District Collector, questioning which she filed the writ petition. By the order under appeal, the learned Single Judge relegated the petitioner to the remedy of approaching the District Court seeking necessary relief against the order passed by the District Collector. Aggrieved thereby, she filed the present writ appeal and an order of status-quo was passed on 22.4.2010. Sri N. Krishna Murthy, learned counsel for respondent No.3, would fairly state that the term of office of the appellant expired in the year 2011.
As the cause in this appeal does not survive, the writ appeal has become infructuous and is, accordingly, dismissed.
Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, shall also stand dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
