Heard the counsel for petitioners, and the learned Government Pleader for Revenue, for respondents.

The petitioners allege that they have occupied lands in various survey numbers in Bassapuram Village, Adoni Mandal, Kurnool District, and that the said land should be assigned to them by the State Government.

The Tahsildar, Adoni, has filed a counter-affidavit stating that the lands occupied by the petitioners are not Government lands but are private patta lands, and therefore, the State Government cannot assign the same to petitioners.

No material is placed on record by the petitioners to show that the land in question is Government land. Therefore, it is not open to petitioners to insist that the State Government give them pattas in respect of land which is not the land of the State Government, but which belongs to private parties.

Therefore, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No order as to costs. 6.

As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions pending if any in this Writ Petition, shall stand closed.
