HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE ABHINAND KUMAR SHAVILI WRIT PETITION No. 17692 of 2018 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed by the petitioners, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking to issue a writ of mandamus to declare the action of the respondents in disconnecting power supply to service connection No.1111100120326 in premises bearing door No.12-23-33, 34, Puvvadavari street, Kothapet, Guntur, without issuing any notice as illegal and arbitrary and consequently to direct the respondents to forthwith restore the power supply.

Heard Sri S.Sridhar, learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents. 3.

It is contended by the learned counsel for the petitioners that two service connections are provided to the premises of the petitioners and without any notice, the respondents have disconnected the power supply in respect of one particular service connection.

Learned Standing Counsel contended that one meter with single service connection is allowed to the premises of the petitioners, however, the petitioners have fixed another meter and are getting the power supply from that single service connection in order to get the power tariff reduced. He further contended that it is not a case of disconnection and it is a clubbing of electric meters and the respondents are providing power supply to the entire premises by way of one electric service connection.

In view of the submissions made by both parties, this Court is of the considered view that the power is being supplied to the entire premises, may be by way of single meter. However, the grievance of the petitioners is that in respect of one particular electric meter, power supply has been disconnected. 6.

Therefore, this writ petition is disposed of directing the petitioners to make a representation to the respondents in respect of power supply which was disconnected in respect of one particular meter and seek restoration of power supply even in respect of second meter also. On such representation being made, the respondents would consider and pass appropriate orders within four weeks from the date of receipt of such representation. No costs.

Consequently, miscellaneous petitions if any pending in the writ petition shall stand closed.
