ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking the following relief: "......to issue writ order or direction more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in not considering the representation of the petitioner dated 09.08.2019 for providing appointment to the daughter of the petitioner Miss Y.Chaitanya under dependant employment as illegal, arbitrary, unjust, discriminatory, unreasonable and contrary to Article 14 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondents to provide dependant employment under compassionate grounds to the daughter of the petitioner Miss Y.Chaitanya duly considering the representation of the petitioner dated 09.08.2019 in the interest of justice and pass such other order or orders may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

Heard Sri D.Rama Krishna, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, and Sri J.Sreenivasa Rao, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

It is the case of the petitioner that he was employed as Moulder at Central Workshop in the respondent-Company and he is working as such. While so, he was declared as medically unfit due to his health grounds and terminated from service vide order dated 18.4.2014. Thereafter, he submitted a

representation dated 9.8.2019 to the respondents to consider his daughter's case for appointment on compassionate grounds. But, so far, no orders have been passed thereon. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner contended that the respondents issued a Circular dated 9.3.2018 wherein a policy decision was taken to extend employment on compassionate grounds to the children of the employees, who were declared medically unfit. It is prayed that the case of the daughter of the petitioner be considered for appointment on compassionate grounds in terms of the said Circular. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents contended that the case of the petitioner's daughter would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed on the representation submitted by the petitioner, in accordance with law.

Having considered the rival submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court is of the considered view that this writ petition can be disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner on 9.8.2019 and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.

Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
