Heard both sides. With the consent of both parties the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage.

The present writ petition came to be filed seeking issuance of writ of Mandamus declaring the action of respondent No.3 in insisting the petitioner to settle the civil dispute pending between the petitioner and respondent No.4, as illegal and arbitrary.

Though various grounds are raised, learned counsel for the petitioner restricts his prayer seeking a direction to the respondent police not to interfere with the civil dispute pending between the petitioner and respondent No.4.

Learned Government Pleader on instructions submits that the allegations made in the writ affidavit are false and that respondent No.3 would not interfere with the civil dispute pending between the parties. 5.

Without going into merits of the case and having regard to the rival submissions made, the writ petition is disposed of directing respondent police not to interfere with the civil dispute pending between the petitioner and respondent No.4. In case the police intend to take any action against the parties, the same shall be in accordance with law. No costs. As a sequel thereto, Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition, shall stand closed.
