Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Revenue.

Petitioner claims that she is widow of late Sri R.Ram Murthy who was a Freedom Fighter. In pursuance of the scheme formulated by the Government vide G.O.Ms.No.185 Revenue (ASSN-I) Department dated 11.3.1997 to allot a maximum extent of 300 sq.yards as house site to the freedom fighters, petitioner submitted several representations requesting to allot house site in her favour. The material on record would disclose that in response to the representations made by the petitioner, the 2nd respondent-District Collector vide letter in Rc.No.E1/2237/2017 dated 22.2.2018, requested 3rd respondentRevenue Divisional Officer to submit report as per the instructions contained in G.O.Ms.No.181 dated 15.2.2006. It appears, so far 2nd respondent has not submitted any report and therefore, the issue of entitlement of petitioner for allotment of house site is not decided. 3.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the age of the petitioner, the writ petition is disposed of, directing the 2nd respondent-District Collector to finalise the claim of petitioner for grant of house site by deciding her eligibility pursuant to letter in Rc.No.E1/2237/2017 dated 22.2.2018 as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
