THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTI CE SANJAY KUMAR AND THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTI CE N. BALAYOGI WRI T PETI TI ON No.6667 of 2017 ORDER: (Per Justice Sanjay Kumar) The petitioner is the applicant in O.A.No.6861 of 2012 on the file of the Andhra Pradesh Administrative Tribunal, Hyderabad. By order dated 26.02.2015, the Tribunal dismissed the said O.A. The prayer of the petitioner in the said O.A. was to declare him entitled for selection and appointment as a Junior Lecturer (Zoology) pursuant to the notification dated 26.11.2008 issued by the then Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission.

It is an admitted fact that the petitioner applied for the post of Junior Lecturer in Zoology in Urdu medium though he had studied Telugu as second language at Degree level and not Urdu. He was therefore not qualified for the post of Junior Lecturer in Zoology in Urdu medium. Sri M. Damodar Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner, would contend that though the petitioner erroneously marked column 23(a) of the OMR sheet, which was referable to the post of Junior Lecturer in Zoology in Urdu medium, the authorities ought to have considered his case under English medium.

The Tribunal, having considered the matter at length, opined that the petitioner, having committed a mistake while filling up the OMR sheet, was solely responsible therefor and had to suffer the consequences. Learned Government Pleader for Services (Telangana) would further point out that the petitioner, having suffered the dismissal of his O.A. as long back as on 26.02.2015, chose to file the present writ petition only on 23.02.2017, clearly evidencing his lack of interest in the matter.

We find merit in this submission. Apart from the fact that the petitioner was himself responsible for his candidature being considered for the post in Urdu medium for which he was not eligible at all, the delay on his part in approaching this Court also weighs against him. Thus, the writ petition is liable to be dismissed on more grounds than one and is accordingly dismissed.

Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall also stand dismissed. No order as to costs.
