THE HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN ARBITRATION APPLICATION No.26 OF 2016 ORDER:

Sri B. Mayur Reddy, Learned Counsel for the petitioner would draw attention of this Court to Section 11(12)(a) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 to submit that, since the dispute in the present case arises out of an International Commercial Arbitration, the power to appoint an arbitrator is conferred only on the Supreme Court, and the jurisdiction of this Court was invoked by mistake. Learned Counsel would seek permission to withdraw the Writ Petition with liberty to approach the Supreme Court.

Granting liberty as sought for, the application is dismissed as withdrawn. No costs.
