Y. Venkaiah, v. Smt. Sridevi,
HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN AND HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P. NAVEEN RAO Contempt Case No.747 of 2017 ORDER: (per the Hon'ble The Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan)) Pursuant to the notice, issued in Form No. I on 6.10.2017, the District Collector (2nd respondent) is present in Court today. Learned Government Pleader for Revenue, appearing on his behalf, would draw our attention to the endorsement dated 30.3.2017 to submit that the order of this Court has been complied with. The order of this Court, violation of which is alleged in the Contempt Case, is the order in W.P. No. 36492 of 2015 dated 16.3.2016, whereby the District Collector was required to consider the petitioner's representations, within a period of sixteen weeks, on its merits and in accordance with law, after giving the 12th respondent an opportunity of being heard.
Since the District Collector has passed an order on 30.3.2017, albeit belatedly for which he has expressed regret and has tendered his apology for the delay, we see no reason to proceed against him under the Contempt of Courts Act.
The Contempt Case is, accordingly, closed. No order as to costs. ________________________________ RAMESH RANGANATHAN, ACJ _________________________ P. NAVEEN RAO, J 3rd November, 2017 pnb
