Heard counsel for the petitioner and the Government Pleader appearing for respondents.

Petitioner's grievance is that husband of the petitioner died on 07.04.2015 on account of being hit by thunderbolt in his agricultural field and she had made a request to the Government of Telangana for grant of exgratia of Rs.5 lakhs vide G.O.Ms.No.1 Revenue (D.M-I) Department, dt.04.05.2015, but the same was rejected by Memo on 21.06.2019 issued by the 1st respondent. 3.

Counsel for the petitioner relies upon the order dt.06.02.2019 in WP.No.1799 of 2019 wherein this Court interpreted the term 'cloud burst' in G.O.Ms.No.1 dt.04.05.2015 holding that when there is a 'cloud burst' or 'a sudden violent rainstorm', there are bound to be 'thunderbolt' or 'flash of lightening with a simultaneous crash of thunder' and that such thunderbolt would be concomitant with a sudden rainstorm. 4.

In view of the above legal position, and on the 1st respondent being satisfied that the death of the husband of the petitioner was occasioned by a thunderbolt on 07.04.2015, after due enquiry, benefit under G.O.Ms.No.1 dt.04.05.2015 be paid to the petitioner.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.

Consequently, Miscellaneous Petitions pending if any, shall stand closed.
