Heard Sri S.D.Gowd, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Sri A. Rama Rao, learned standing counsel for APSRTC.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as contract driver in the year 2006 in the 2nd respondent region and was posted to Kurnool Region by order dated 12.05.2006, where he worked for more than 11⁄2 years and thereafter he was redirected to his parent region i.e., 2nd respondent. In February 2008 a letter was sent to him to report in the office of the 2nd respondent for necessary posting orders. Accordingly he appeared before the 2nd respondent in the 2nd week of February 2008, but he was not allotted the duties. According to the petitioner, it is the usual practice in the Corporation to engage the contract drivers whenever the work is available. His grievance is that though he has been consistently requesting the 2nd respondent for allotment of duties, no work was allotted to him. Ultimately, he filed a written representation dated 03.02.2015 to the respondents for taking necessary action for allotment of duties, but so far no orders have been passed on the said representation.

Under the above circumstances, the 2nd respondent is directed to look into the representation dated 03.02.2015 submitted by the petitioner, where under he sought for allotment of duties and pass necessary orders in accordance with Rules, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of at the stage of admission. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed. No order as to costs.
