Petitioner challenges the action of the respondents in not considering his application dated 08.11.2016 for grant of quarry lease for excavation of limestone.

Learned Government Pleader, on instructions, submits that the matter is in process and appropriate decision will be taken after obtaining necessary reports from the revenue authorities, since the revenue authorities have to give no objection certificate and the matter would require longer time. She would, therefore, submit that if four months time is fixed, appropriate decision will be taken after following the due procedure and the same will be communicated to the petitioner.

Having regard to the said submissions, this writ petition is disposed of directing respondent Nos.2 to 4 to process and finalize the application filed by the petitioner within a period of four (4) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Liberty is granted to the petitioner to place before the competent authority all the relevant documents in support of his claim, which are stated and filed in this writ petition and while processing the application filed by the petitioner, the said documents shall be taken into consideration. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any pending in this writ petition, shall stand closed.
