This writ petition is filed for the following relief: " For the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit, it is prayed that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue an appropriate Writ, Order or Direction, more particularly one in the nature of Writ of Mandamus, declaring the action of the respondent authorities in threatening to disconnect the power supply to Domestic SC No.P2012878 in spite of receipt of half of the provisionally assessed amount and without passing Final Assessment Orders, as being illegal, arbitrary, unjust and unconstitutional and consequently direct the respondent authorities not to take any coercive steps still passing of the Final Assessment Orders, and to grant such other relief or reliefs as this Hon'ble Court deems fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."
The grievance of the petitioner in the present writ petition is that though there is no final assessment order, and despite the petitioner paying half of the amount covered by the provisional assessment, the respondent authorities are attempting to disconnect the power supply to the premises of the petitioner.
According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, no final assessment order has been passed.
On the other hand, it is submitted by the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents - organisation that the respondents would act in accordance with law.
Recording the said submission, the writ petition is disposed of, directing the respondent authorities not to disconnect the power supply to the petitioner's premises till final assessment order is passed. As a sequel, the miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. No order as to costs.
