THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE CHALLA KODANDA RAM WRIT PETITION No.18163 of 2009 O R D E R:

Petitioner states that he is a resident Ramakoteswara Rao Nagar, Kurnool Road, Ongole; that respondent No.4-Ongole Municipality has passed a resolution on 31.07.2009, changing the name of Ramakoteswara Rao Nagar as Bopparaju Arjuna Rao Street without cancelling the earlier resolution, dated 28.02.2004, and without calling for the objections from the local people and that the same creates utter confusion. Therefore, he prays for a writ of mandamus declaring the resolution, dated 31.07.2009, as illegal and arbitrary.

In his counter-affidavit, respondent No.4 asserts that in view of the representation, dated 21.07.2009, made by the residents of the locality people, resolution, dated 31.07.2009, has been passed changing the name of Dibbala road (Starting from Kurnool road up to Chandraiah Nagar road) as Bopparaju Arjuna Rao Street and there is no proposal to change the name of Ramakoteswara Rao Nagar as Bopparaju Arjuna Rao Street. In the light of the above, the writ petition is closed. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
