THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE T. AMARNATH GOUD CRIMINAL PETITION No.6217 of 2019 ORDER:

This Criminal Petition, under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed by the petitioner-accused No.2 for grant of anticipatory bail in Crime No.155 of 2019 of Women Police Station, Begumpet, Hyderabad City, registered for the offences punishable under Section 498-A IPC and Sections 4 and 6 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent-State and perused the material on record.

As seen from the complaint, there are specific allegations against the petitioner with regard to his harassing the de facto complainant for getting additional dowry. The investigation is still in progress. In the event of the petitioner releasing on bail, there is a possibility of her causing hindrance in the investigation. Hence, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 4.
