Petitioners were initially appointed as Teaching Assistants in Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Ananthapur on various dates from the year 2005 to 2007. In the year 2008 the Rayalaseema University was established by converting Sri Krishnadevaraya University P.G.Centre, as Rayalaseema University and petitioners continued in the new university service. In the year 2014 the teaching staff were re-designated as Assistant Professors on contract basis. In this writ petition petitioners seek to compute the contract service rendered by them in Sri Krishnadevaraya University for the purpose of determination of their salaries/allowances.

Ventilating their grievance a representation was submitted on 20.05.2016 and 24.05.2016. However, learned counsel for the petitioners submit that petitioners may be granted liberty to make a detailed representation afresh ventilating their grievance. 4.

Having regard to the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on merits, the writ petition is disposed of, granting liberty to the petitioners to make a detailed representation to the respondent-University (1st respondent). As and when such representation is made, the 1st respondent is directed to examine the claim of the petitioners and pass appropriate orders, as warranted by law. A decision should be taken to this extent and communicated to the petitioners, within a period of eight (8) weeks

- 3 - from the date of receipt of copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
