WRIT PETITION NO.30795 OF 2016 O R D E R :
This writ petition is filed by the petitioner seeking mandamus to declare the action of the respondent in not issuing the passport to the petitioner as illegal, arbitrary and consequently to direct the respondent to issue the passport to the petitioner and to pass such other suitable orders as this Court may deems fit and proper in the circumstances of the case.
2. Heard Sri Nageshwar Rao Pujari, learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri B. Jitendar, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent.
3. As stated in the affidavit filed in support of the petition, the petitioner has filed an application for the aforesaid purpose on 29/5/2016, however, till date the respondent has not taken any decision.
4. Keeping in view, the averments made in the affidavit filed in support of the petition, I hereby direct the respondent-Regional
Passport Officer, Secunderabad, to consider and dispose of the application dated 29/5/2016 filed by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. I hereby make it clear that the orders passed on the application dated 29/5/2016 shall be communicated to the petitioner within one week thereafter.
5. In view of the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of at the stage of admission. No costs.
6. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
