Jatoth Dorji, R.R. Dist. v. State Election Commission, Hyd. And 4 ORS.
THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P. NAVEEN RAO WRIT PETITION No.23019 OF 2013 ORDER:
Heard.
2.
Petitioner claims that she filed nomination for the post of Sarpach of Dadpally Gram Panchayat and the elections were held on 23.07.2013. According to petitioner, petitioner and respondent No.5 were the only contested candidates. Petitioner alleges that in the process of counting votes, certain irregularities had taken place; procedure of counting was not properly made and she wanted recounting of the votes. Alleging inaction in not following the procedure while counting votes, this Writ Petition is filed. 3.
The Sarpanch was elected in the elections held in the year 2013 and completed his tenure and the affairs of Gram Panchayat are managed by the Special Officers. As the term of the Sarpanch itself was over, the cause in the Writ Petition does not survive for adjudication and the Writ Petition has become infructuous. 4.
The Writ Petition is accordingly dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Pending Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
