This petition is filed seeking for quash of the proceedings in C.C.No.493 of 2000 on the file of VIII Additional Metropolitan Magistrate, Hyderabad.

Heard the counsel for the petitioner and the Public Prosecutor appearing for the 2nd respondent. The 1st respondent did not appear in spite of notice.

The counsel for the petitioner brings to the notice of this court the order passed in Crl.P.No.4906 of 2000, which is filed by the writer of the Article, which according to the complainant was defamatory. The counsel submits that earlier a case was filed against the petitioner and after due investigation, police closed it as a false case and later a private complaint was filed by the complainant against the writer of the article and this petitioner, who is the editor of the Saze Deccan Daily Newspaper. The writer went for quashment and this court quashed the proceedings by virtue of the orders in Crl.P.No.4906 of 2000. 4.

The number of the C.C., which was wrongly mentioned in the order, is corrected in the concluding portion of the order from which it can be understood that the complaint against the petitioner therein and the petitioner herein is one and the same. 5.

Hence, following the said order and in terms thereof, this Criminal Petition is allowed and the further proceedings in

C.C.No.493 of 2000 on the file of VIII Additional Metropolitan Magistrate, Hyderabad are hereby quashed. As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications, if any pending, shall stand closed. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ T. RAJANI , J November 8, 2017 LMV
